How to Let Your Inner Sun Shine

April 22, 2017

Between times of rain we see the sun, & I’m not just talking about the weather.  Life has it’s ups & downs, but we need to remember that we have an energy inside of ourselves that we can access, anytime.  We can call it our Core, which is part physical, & part Spiritual.  I like to think of this as our inner sun, that can radiate out to fill us with life, energy, strength….  We can connect with our breath & feel the movement of this energy moving from the centre outward on the inhale & back to the centre on the exhale.  I call this “radiating breath”.  I got this idea from one of my teacher’s teacher’s Donna Farhi.  Here is a couple of articles, the first short & sweet showing how to do this idea that Donna calls Naval Radiation, by one of her students.

The 2nd link is for an article by Donna herself,  on this idea.  A bit more to read, but shows the importance of a conscious breath, from her book

Bringing Yoga to Life: The Everyday Practice of Enlightened Living by Donna Farhi.

I encourage you to  take some time this week to notice when you are holding or struggling with your breath.  The take a minute to touch base with your inner awareness of the breath & allow it to radiate outwards in all directions on each inhale & release back to the source, your True Self on each exhale. After a minute of breathing this way, go back to your day & see if you are not more present to it.  It only takes a moment to find Yourself in the midst of all the different weather that life gives us.

If you would like to take some time to help you find your Energy this Spring, join me for a Mini Retreat this Friday April 28 5-9pm.  Space is limited, so if you are interested, book your space today.
